About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Fitter to join our diverse and inclusive team at our Bricks manufacturing site in Golden Grove. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will play a crucial role in assisting with general maintenance and breakdown work to keep our operations running smoothly.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Champion a zero-harm environment and safety-first culture, ensuring to always follow the "Never Walk Past" principle.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Complete planned maintenance tasks, fault diagnosis, and breakdown repairs, as well as any modifications requested by your Supervisor.
  • Mechanical Fitting: Perform maintenance related to extruders, kiln rails, strappers, brick handling machinery, conveyors, bearings, and rollers.
  • Machine Operation: Occasionally utilize machine tools, including pedestal drills, lathes, and milling machines.
  • Technical Work: Apply your skills in welding and fabrication, with exposure to pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain safe operating practices and a consistently high standard of housekeeping.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A background in manufacturing or the building industry.
  • A relevant Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate or Boilermaker Certificate.
  • A strong sense of safety awareness and a record of good attendance.
